Sasser Specialties is a promotional products company that also offers a variety of services including embroidery, screen printing and heat transfer services. While attending an industry tradeshow in January of 2007, Jeanette met Jason Murphy of GroupeSTAHL Sales Alliance. She told Jason about her business and that she was actually tossing around the idea of closing her shop.
Sasser Specialties is a family owned business. Jeanette and her husband own the business and run it together with their two daughters and two outside employees. Sasser Specialties operates out of a small shop on their one-acre property located in Hanford, CA which is situated in the south central portion of California's San Joaquin Valley. Closing the business would have been difficult on their entire family.
After talking with Jeanette and learning more about Sasser Specialties, Jason introduced her to a print/cut system that is ideal for creating digital transfers for apparel as well as other items like banners, window decals, custom stickers, and more. After giving it some thought, Jeanette decided to purchase the system.
Since the purchase of the print/cut equipment from Stahls' ID Direct, Sasser Specialties' business has increased by almost 200%! A large percentage of business comes from schools and business. They love the full color shirts that Sasser Specialties creates with Stahls' CAD-COLOR® Solutions Opaque digital media. In addition, Sasser Specialties supplies products to several malls, but a big part of their focus is on churches. Several of the local churches present entertaining stage productions like: Jesus Is My Hero or Sermon on the Mound or offer Vacation Bible School and will order as many as 300-400 shirts at a time as well as signs and banners.
Sasser Specialties orders all of their materials and equipment from Stahls' ID Direct. Their 16" x 20" Hotronix® heat press and cap press receive regular workouts as they are used daily to apply transfers onto T-shirts, bags and caps.Sasser Specialties also has a vinyl cutter that they use with Stahls' CAD-CUT® heat transfer material to offer on-demand personalization. The vinyl cutter is ideal for adding names and numbers to uniforms or cutting designs and logos on a one or two-piece basis.
Jeanette says that she really enjoys being able to serve as a one-stop shop and building customer relationships is key to her business. Providing good customer service is invaluable to her business and most of her business can be attributed to word of mouth. This year Sasser will be advertising in some of the local coupon books and has even taken out a full color ad in the phone book.
Sasser Specialties has found that having the right equipment, offering quality products such as the ones they get from Stahls' ID Direct™ and superior service will keep customers coming back. They have created a loyal following with a strong customer base that is sure to continue to grow for many years to come.

Stahls' ID Direct is the digital print expert for garments. The CAD-PRINTZ™ line of digital products includes: Digital Transfers, Number Effects and Text Effects. As experts in digital printing, Stahls' ID Direct volunteered to create a banner and donate both the labor and the materials.
Over 700 images were received and the process of creating the banner required the time and effort of two computers as well as numerous hours of design to weave the pictures together to create a truly amazing piece of art.
Deminski and Doyle traveled to Washington DC on Thursday, May 14, 2009, where they unveiled the banner on the steps of the Capitol. Members of Congress and the Senate as well as the Department of Recovery for Auto Communities were on hand to view it.

The classes they present are thorough and customer friendly with the focus on quickly building a successful business. They are extremely knowledgeable about Stahls' products, equipment and services.
To show how incredibly dedicated they are to customer service, we have called Jason dozens of times and he always picks up the phone. or very promptly returns calls, including late nights and weekends. To take it a step further, we had an urgent question for Jason around Christmas. It was evening when we called and he patiently answered all our questions and helped us solve our CorelDRAW issue. At the end of our conversation, Jason told us he was out Christmas shopping with his wife in Las Vegas. We were stunned that he would go so far above and beyond to serve his customers.
We remember Jaime during training sessions continually saying, “Don't turn any business down! If you can't do it, we are here to help you. Come see us and we will make it happen for you!” What great advice and words of encouragement. Jaime was right as Since then we have expanded our services and product line which are directly supported by Stahls'.
John has taught us many shortcuts that have greatly made our job easier. After the scheduled training session, John and worked one on one with us regarding our individual areas of need.

Four years ago, he was a service technician for the local gas company and today he's doing an amazing business as the owner of the Pro Shop which operates as The Hockey Group inside the St. Clair Shores Civic Center.
Bob has been a customer of Stahls' ID Direct™ since he started his business in 2004. Tournaments such as the International Silver Stick really give him the opportunity to build his business.
For the last couple of Silver Stick tournaments, Bob has been selling jerseys and personalizing them using SimStitch® letters and numbers from Stahls' ID Direct™. Parents and kids alike have loved the ability to purchase personalized fan wear on demand. He has also been selling hoodies featuring team names with custom cut appliqué purchased from Stahls' ID Direct™ and then has it embroidered.

So Kiggins’ shop has been a Stahls’ ID Direct™ customer from its inception and according to Kiggins the experience has been nothing but profitable and hassle-free. Stahls’ ID Direct™ always does a good job,” he says. “They always deliver when they say they going to deliver and if we have a rush-order, they are more than willing to accommodate us.”
“One time we made a mistake when ordering numbers for a baseball team,” says Kiggins. “We should have ordered white and orange and we ordered white and blue. We were really concerned about being able to meet the deadline because the team had a game that weekend. I called and explained the situation to our rep, and he had replacement numbers shipped out immediately. Stahls’ saved that order for us.”
About six months ago, Kiggins decided to branch out from pre cut letters and numbers, which he uses to do about 85% of his team uniforms, to Stahls’ precut tackle twill. “It’s been extremely profitable,” he notes.
The biggest benefit to working with Stahls’, according to Kiggins, is it allows him to make more money. “Stahls’ has allowed us to get business that we would have had to turn away because of the size or required turnaround,” he says. “For example, last year we had three guys come in who were running in the New York City Marathon. It’s a tradition there to have your name on your shirt when you run. The marathon was on Sunday and these guys came in on Saturday hoping to get shirts. With our Hotronix® heat press and pre cut lettering, we were able to put together those shirts in less than an hour. When the guys came back, they were thrilled and one of them placed a 300
piece order shortly thereafter.”

The reason, says Duncan, is the competitive and marketing advantages it gives him over other businesses. In fact, he not only cuts roll goods for his own company, he also cuts for five other shops in his area creating a new revenue stream and further justifying the investment cost.
“The cutter gives us a leg up over potential competition because we cut ourselves. I can go to someone and say ‘I’ll cut one and let’s see what it looks like.’ And nobody else can do that,” he says. “Most of the time the customer orders and if not, I’m out 12 cents.”
Another plus, according to Duncan, is that the fact that he knows how to cut lettering and use the software and this has increased his knowledge and capabilities. “When you are cutting it yourself, you know more about it.
“I had someone come in with a hockey jersey from the University of Minnesota. He liked the way the numbers were put on and wanted me to duplicate that style. It was a single piece of tackle twill with a 6 mm satin stitch all the way around it. I sat down and cut a piece of twill. I had the Ioline™ software draw the satin stitch and an hour later I had one. If I didn’t have that piece of equipment, I couldn’t have done that. The customer was impressed and I got the deal. The total order was about $800.”

“We chose Stahls’ because the previous owners used Stahls’, and we’ve never had a reason to go anyplace else,” he says.
Kindred estimates that about 50% of his business is baseball, about 25% football, and the remaining 25% split over wrestling, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, and specialty items like letterman jackets. So Red’s uses a lot of film and twill to letter and number a lot of uniforms.
He loves that he can order online, and orders are always accurate and on time.
About 18 months ago, Kindred noticed that the amount he was spending in precut numbers equaled the cost of a cutter and he purchased an Ioline™. Not only has his profitability increased, but there have been other benefits as well.
“The cutter has really helped to keep our prices down making us more competitive,” he says. “Over the past eight months, twill has really taken over and we are doing a lot of letterman jackets.”

“My shop was small, but I wanted to be able to do anything,” says Speed. “I didn’t want to farm out anything because I wouldn’t be making any money doing that. I felt it was a better investment for me to get everything I needed to do the job.”
